More about Smart Water

Smart Water is a burglary reduction tool used to uniquely mark property in homes, making personal property unattractive to burglars, and almost impossible to sell on.

The property marking capabilities of Smart Water enable the police to identify stolen items invisibly marked with the substance and return them to their rightful owner.

In another first for Blacon, the Pathfinder Community Safety Partnership is working with Cheshire police, Chester City Community Safety Partnership, Chester & District Housing Trust, the Blacon Area Committee and Chester Community Safety Wardens to introduce the product in high burglary areas in the City.

Blacon saw a reduction in burglary of people's homes of 54% in 2004, and over 35% across the Chester district in the same period. The introduction of this product illustrates the commitment of the local Community Safety Partnerships to continue to make inroads into burglary crime.

Smart Water was launched officially in Blacon on Saturday 3rd December 2005 at Blacon High School by Chester MP Christine Russell and Blacon Community Safety Partnership chair, John Price.

If you would like Smart Water installed in your home free of charge you must be resident in Blacon, Chester, with a post code beginning CH1 5--. It does not matter whether you are a housing trust, housing association or other tenant or home owner. The service is FREE to all Blacon residents while stocks last.
